Growing up in Slovenia and frequently visiting family in Serbia, Ivana’s childhood was full of travel throughout the countries of former Yugoslavia. She spent summers at the beautiful Adriatic Sea and winters between the Slovenian Alps and Serbian Rhodope mountains. 

Spurred by a love of travel, Ivana earned her first professional degree in tourism as a teenager. She later completed studies in tourism and hospitality management and immediately starting working on cruise ships in the shore excursions department. 

During over 11 years of sailing, Ivana was lucky enough to see and enjoy the amazing nature of Alaska, the Bahamas, the Caribbean, and the Mediterranean as well as visit compelling cities in the United States, Canada, Central and South America, Europe, Asia, and Africa. 

Following Ivana’s successful career onboard, she switched gears to learn the tour operator side of the business. She worked the summer season in Venice, Italy, before taking a professional break to raise her daughter. 

To maximize time spent with her family, Ivana moved into the online industry. With her passion and experience for traveling, the opportunity to join the wonderful Rebecca Recommends team is a big wish come true.

Favorite travel destination: This is the most difficult question to answer after being able to explore the dramatic Alaskan glaciers, enjoy the amazing Niagara waterfalls, snorkel in the warm Caribbean Sea, join adrenaline adventures through the rainforests and river canyons, walk the streets of historical cities, and explore archeological sites and museums in Italy, France, Greece, Turkey and many other countries. 

However, I always like to return to the French Riviera, Paris, New York, Miami, Cape Town, and Istanbul and I’d love to visit Petra in Jordan soon.
