Overview

Romantics and garden lovers will bloom at Bodysgallen Hall & Spa, sitting on more than 200 acres of private parkland with vistas reaching to Snowdonia and medieval Conwy Castle.

Simply the best in country house hospitality, the 17th-century estate offers fine dining in the 2 AA Rosettes restaurant, well-appointed public rooms including the Main Hall and upstairs Drawing Room with double fireplaces, original stone mullioned windows and precious antiques.  Bodysgallen Spa, converted from a farmhouse, offers a generously sized pool, sauna, steam room, fully equipped gymnasium and several beauty treatment rooms – among our favorites is the signature full body massage and essential rose facial, calling to mind the rambling roses that climb the stone walls of the Cottages near the Main Hall. Guests choose from rooms and suites in the Main Hall or private cottage-style accommodation.

How We Travel for Good

Historic House Hotels combine traditional hospitality with a unique conservation purpose, creating memorable stays that help protect the nation’s heritage.

Across the three hotels, we continually seek ways to reduce our environmental impact, from sustainable guest amenities and responsible sourcing to reducing waste and supporting local suppliers. Our historic gardens and parklands play an important role in this, providing home-grown produce and honey for our kitchens, flowers for the houses, and valuable habitats for wildlife in increasingly urbanized areas.

What sets Historic House Hotels apart, however, is its charitable purpose. As a subsidiary of the National Trust, all profits generated by the three hotels are gifted back to the charity, helping to care for historic houses, gardens, landscapes, coastline and wildlife across England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

For guests, a stay at Bodysgallen Hall, Hartwell House, or Middlethorpe Hall is more than a relaxing escape; it is an opportunity to contribute directly to the protection of the nation’s heritage. It is hospitality with purpose, where every booking helps preserve special places for future generations to discover and enjoy.
